5 Homemade Rice Powder Recipes That Lighten Your Skin In Less Than 7 Days
Sharing is caring!
I’ve always found it fascinating how so many of the most common ingredients found in your kitchen can benefit your skin. By mixing a few items from your pantry or fridge, you can whip together face masks, spot treatment and even skin lightening home remedies.
Today I wanted to dive into the topic of how to lighten your skin with one particular item found in many kitchens — rice powder.
What is Rice Powder?
Rice powder is essentially uncooked rice, ground up so finely it becomes a powder. Rice powder is rich with para aminobenzoic acid (PABA), which can help stimulate the production of vitamin C in your body. Vitamin C, as you likely know, is one of nature’s greatest skin lightening and brightening agents. Along with PABA, rice powder also contains allantoin and ferulic acid. Together these three acts as a natural sunscreen to protect your skin from the damages of UV exposure.
Allantoin contains anti-inflammatory properties that promote skin cell rejuvenation at the deepest level. In terms of skin lightening, it works to prevent the overproduction of melanin, the pigment responsible for your dark spots or hyperpigmentation. On top of that allantoin improves your collagen and elastin levels for naturally brighter, younger looking skin. Ferulic acid is overflowing with antioxidants that have so many incredible skin lightening benefits, not to mention anti-aging effects.
Why Lighten Your Skin?
Before I give you the goods, let’s address skin lightening’s bad rep.
First and foremost, skin lightening is not the same as skin whitening. It is not intended for bleaching your skin. This practice gets a bad name because people associate it with the idea that darker skin is not as beautiful as lighter skin. This simply is not true. The fact is, people use it to treat conditions like hyperpigmentation, age spots or to reduce the darkness of scars or stretch marks.
If you suffer from any of the skin ailments I just mentioned then I’ve got 5 incredibly effective homemade rice powder recipes that lighten your skin in less than 7 days!
