Sharing is caring!

We all deal with minor health inconveniences that seem to get worse as we get older. Most of these health problems can be fixed or mitigated with some lifestyle changes or help from healthcare professionals. Don’t put off feeling your best!

Common Health Problems are:

Acne

When you think about acne you probably associate it with a teenage problem, but the truth is it is an issue for people of all ages. There are many ways to help clear up your skin, but it really boils down to figuring out what your skin needs. Everyone is different, so what works for one person, may not work for you. Try a few different things and stick with it until you know it works or it is time to move on to another idea.

Sometimes taking a supplement will help to clear up your skin, you may want to try zinc or fish oil to help give your skin what it needs to be balanced and healthy. There are also different topical remedies that you can try to clear up acne. Things like a honey and cinnamon mask, green tea, or aloe vera have all been shown to help nourish skin. You can also try applying witch hazel, tea tree oil, or apple cider vinegar to blemishes to help them clear up faster.

Sometimes finding the right skin care routine is not the only way to help your skin. If you have tried a lot of remedies and are seeing no improvement, then it may be time to go visit a dermatologist to get a stronger facial medication. You may also need more help if your acne problems stem from a hormonal imbalance. Finding the right specialist to help you balance your entire body can do wonders when it comes to clearing up your face.

Hair Loss

Many people deal with hair loss problems as they get older, and it can be embarrassing. Alopecia, a health problem where hair falls, can happen to younger people as well. Again, the way you address this problem will depend on your circumstances. If you are dealing with alopecia, then you should talk to a doctor. For other reasons for hair loss, there are some ways you can promote healthy hair growth.

You may want to check the shampoo and conditioner you use. Sometimes ingredients in your shampoo may not agree with your hair. You may also be sensitive to harsh chemicals and may want to consider switching to a more natural shampoo.

You should also check to see if you are getting enough of certain vitamins in your diet or supplements. Vitamin A helps the scalp stay healthy, vitamin E promotes good blood circulation in the scalp to help hair follicles stay productive, and vitamin B helps hair to maintain its color. You may also want to increase the amount of protein in your diet as that helps to promote healthy hair growth.

The way you style your hair can also have an affect on hair loss. Brushing wet hair can damage it. Hair is weakest when it is wet, so brushing can break and damage hair. If you must, use a wide-toothed comb. You can also use your fingers to clear out tangles instead of a comb or a brush. Reducing the amount you brush your hair can promote healthy hair growth. Heating and drying your hair often can also weaken hair proteins and make your hair frail. Use cooler settings on a blow dryer if you must dry your hair.

Stress and Mental Health

One of the most common mental health issues is stress. If you are dealing with a large amount of stress, anxiety, or depression, then please seek professional health. There are some tips to help you lower stress naturally if you would just like to reduce the amount of stress in your life.

Exercise is one of the best ways to reduce stress in your life. Putting physical stress on your body can actually reduce the amount of mental stress you feel. The key is to exercise regularly to get the most benefits. Exercise lowers your body’s stress hormones and releases endorphins. It can also improve your sleep quality which will help with stress levels as well.

Reducing your caffeine intake is another important stress reliever. Different people have different levels for how much caffeine they can tolerate. If you ever feel a little jittery or anxious after drinking coffee, tea, or energy drinks, that is a clear sign that you should cut back.

Learning mindfulness is another great tool to help battle stress and anxiety. Meditation and breathing exercises help you to stay aware of your emotions and your body. Knowing what is going on inside of you will help you deal with emotions instead of bottling them up. Breathing exercises can also help you to lower anxiety levels and stay calm, even in stressful situations.

Talking to a trusted friend or family member or even writing down your feelings can be a huge stress relief. Sometimes the act of saying a problem outloud and working through it enough to write it down will help reduce the anxiety over it greatly.

Headaches

Chronic headaches are a huge problem for a lot of people. The hard thing about fixing headaches is that it could be a myriad of problems contributing. As always, if it is a severe problem, talk to your doctor before trying any of these tips.

First, make sure your basic bases are covered. Dehydration and not enough sleep can both contribute to chronic headaches. You should be drinking plenty of water during the day and getting not only enough hours of sleep at night, but also quality sleep.

You may also need to have your vision checked. Having the wrong prescription for glasses or contacts can lead to intense headaches. You may also get headaches if you are dealing with progressive lens problems. If this is the case, then talk to your eye doctor about next steps to help resolve this problem.
